Message from the President

From Winter E-News - December 2024
As the year draws to a close, we are proud to reflect on the significant strides we've made together. Thanks to the collective efforts of our board, volunteers, partners and supporters we have been able to strengthen our financial foundations, expand our social media presence and deepen our connections with patients and healthcare professionals across Canada.

Throughout the year we have actively participated in key conferences including ICPP, CORD, NRBDO and Global Skin. The "LightUp" Campaign was a huge success, as was our Hope Jam fundraiser and the publication of the acute porphyria guidelines has cemented our place as a global porphyria partner. These initiatives headed up by our board has allowed us to more effectively advocate for our community and patients. I would like to thank the board of volunteers including Kelly, Jeannie, Derry, Ian, Jim, Nicole, Lindsay, John, Tammy we wouldn't be able to deliver on all of these initiatives without your support.

Looking ahead, we're excited to continue this momentum. Our focus in the coming year includes the dissemination of the acute porphyria guidelines to a broader HCP audience as well as the continued collaboration with community stakeholders. Thank you to our partners Alnlym, Recordati, and Disc Medicine for your continued support. Together we remain committed to driving meaningful progress for improving patient outcomes.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey and I'm looking forward to continued growth and a successful year ahead.
